Brexit: history tells us Brits are crucial to europe

As time finally runs out on the protracted charade that is Brexit and we have to pretend we are surprised by the no-deal ending, history tells us ALL WILL BE WELL!

We are a tiny, tiny island that went on to rule a quarter of the world and have a financial system that props up half the globe.

Belonging to a club (EU) that rounds on you when you ask to leave (a decision made by the majority through a democratic process, albeit one that was thoughtless as the outcome should have required at least a 10% margin for what really is such a massive decision) is clearly distasteful. I am one of millions of Brits who did not vote for Brexit but regardless of how ludicrous and shoddy the entire process was, we are in a democracy and the Brexiteers won the referendum and that is that. Yes, the premise on which the decision was made and the misleading information, doom-mongering etc. was awful, but we must get on with it and we will.

There is bound to be several months of chaos and confusion, but that will not be limited to Britain. The ingenuity of the British people will once again rise to the fore and the world will again witness our resilience. We no longer have the robust politicians and thinkers we used to have, BUT again, that is a global pattern and not limited to the UK.

All will be well. Rule Britannia….

an everyday professional wondering (as many others do daily) what all the animosity is all about? we all came with nothing (as babies), didn’t choose where we popped out and we will all leave (when we die) with nothing.
