We create them, we place them on a pedestal, we make them feel superior, we line their pockets and then we expect them to behave like the rest of us….
Woke up this morning to read about yet another so-called celebrity in the UK – Amanda Holden – another manufactured darling of reality TV bingers, who claim to have received a distressing call from her parents who live in lovely Cornwall, over 100 miles from her home in London, ignoring Covid-19 rules, she drove off to see them, BUT wait for it… her 50th birthday just happens to be on Tuesday. So, this supposed ‘distressing call’ wouldn’t just happen to be: “would be good to see you before your 50th”?
We blame politicians for breaking rules and dishonesty, but Covid-19 has shown that very few in this country, would act any better. At least, with politician this is a group of individuals we have had to put on a pedestal so they can rule – someone has to, or the mobs will take over – so, one can excuse their ‘mightier than thou’ attitude as they are indeed mightier than the common citizen, even if such might was not intended to hand them open-ended privilege
It really is pathetic when we beat politicians up in the same manner as we forget priests are also human – nobody can be perfectly faultless – and then you read about these so-called celebrities (a group consisting of individuals who entertain us, but get carried-away with their self-importance) day after day, breaking rules in such pathetic fashion….
