Global peace? End of conflicts (Sudan, Middle East etc.)? Reduction of child poverty? Reduction of prison population/reoffending?
Have any of the above ended?
Over the years, people with medical training e.g. doctors, have been given a chance to lead health administration and failed. They were said to lack the administrative expertise. The we got an army of administrators in, who lacked the basic understanding of what it takes to provide healthcare. That ended up in a mess too. I guess you need a mix of both?
Today’s reality is quite simple: not much has been achieved. We have needless wars – even in Europe – we have people trafficking that’s now on a mass scale, with borders now meaningless and people assuming they can just walk into any country at will – essentially exploiting the civility of those nations. The helplessness that’s led to some of these folk making these perilous journeys should not be glossed over, but the lack of regard for borders and due process, is frightening!
So, is there honestly any sensible reason not to try “supposedly” unimpressively qualified people at the helm of government??? What have the supposedly impressively qualified folk achieved to date???
The folk who should be sitting quietly, figuring out how they blew it so badly, do not appear to have learnt any lessons. But honestly, some of the appointments are poacher turned gate-keeper! May end up an absolute soap-opera…
