We are now back to 264 BC. the era of gladiator games…

The rule of law and common sense can now be so readily bypassed by populism. Shout out, shout loud or have a twitter account with a few million followers and who needs Parliament? Just force politicians to start answering questions on twitter! No need for truth, facts or due process.

Welcome to today’s world…

The urge appears greater than the lust for blood by those at the games in 264 BC.

We can’t help ourselves.

Why on earth would a Prime Minister, the head of a government, go about responding daily to twitter attacks?? Well, because the masses have decided to do away with decorum.
Now we have endless distraction

We spend months, tons of money, running an election and selecting a government but a few weeks later, because someone launches some online petition, we think we can bully everyone else by calling for a new election?
And it cuts both ways. To those who keep on ranting & raving about the negative impact of Brexit; well, you had your chance to persuade people not to vote for Brexit. The leavers won. The rules should have required a greater majority to win, but it didn’t. So, we must get on with it. Brexit stays. Awful as it is, that is what democracy is!

Today, nobody wants to follow due process anymore. They think they have found a shortcut to everything. Just go on social media, shout as loud as you can, gain some support, use that support to threaten ‘cancelling’ etc., and hey presto! You get to have it your way….

Madness!!!

an everyday professional wondering (as many others do daily) what all the animosity is all about? we all came with nothing (as babies), didn’t choose where we popped out and we will all leave (when we die) with nothing.
