Strange that the most vocal critics of the UK government handing Chagos Island back to Mauritius are the same ones seemingly ok with Ukraine losing land…

Historically, stronger nations have always grabbed territory. Nothing new there. To undo that past, will be to hand Canada back to the native tribes or empty the US of Europeans or Australia, New Zealand etc. Russia annexed Crimea. I don’t see any possibility of them ever handing it back to Ukraine anytime soon. But it is a little curious that some British politicians who are hammering the Prime Minister for daring to agree to hand back an Island that many of them had never heard of until recently, because it was a British territory, albeit nowhere near the UK, seem to so brazenly expect Ukraine to just chop off their territory and walk away.

The hypocrisy is startling but perhaps to be expected? It is the way the world is. Has been. Will most likely always be. What really shouldn’t be happening, is the wanton loss of lives! The leaders of these countries should simply hold an arm wrestling competition or boxing bout and the winner can grab the land in dispute. Something along those lines. As it really is crazy, for so many people to be killed and yet, the inevitable occur anyway.
I hear 46,000 Ukrainians have been killed so far. Now, is Ukraine any closer to getting Crimea back? No. Are they likely to end up letting go of a bit more land to end the ongoing war? Very likely. So, it is a little curious right? But should the smaller countries just roll over and keep losing land and ceding territory? No. So, what is the solution? Well, that’s what the world needs to figure out. Whichever way, wars solve nothing.
