The golf fiasco! LIV vs PGA tour…

To understand this madness, you would need to go right down to grassroots golf, in schools, colleges and clubs that the PGA fund, and how that pyramid structure grows the sport and how ALL golfers earning $millions came through that structure. I am not going to comment on ‘sportwashing’ and all the allegations levelled against LIV (is there any clean money in any sport?? It’s all a matter of perception), but the golfers rushed off to LIV golf for easy money, should be asked to explain where they would be, without the structure that made them the golfers they are?
Has LIV put in 100+ years of golf development into schools, colleges etc?
Now, it is possible that LIV will indeed, over the next 100 years, do as much as the PGA, for schools, colleges etc., but that’s to be seen right?
So, the players that ran off to take LIV money, are well within their right to do so, and LIV are well within their right to do their thing. But for goodness sake!!! Stop the disrespect!! The PGA deserve respect, for what they have done – even if some now say it was not quite enough- over decades, which led to these very LIV golfers becoming the stars they are, for LIV to notice them. Do Ian Poulter or Phil Michelson think they would be millionaire golfers without the PGA and the structure that got them through?
Fine, they went off and took the money. Now, they want to crawl back for respectability!
Phil Michelson is now putting comments out on the upcoming Masters etc. The LIV money hasn’t left them with the respectability they seek, but they won’t give the money back right? They want both. Well, could they have left the PGA without disrespecting the PGA? Yes. There was absolutely no need for the disrespect.
