Perhaps life is just a matter of CONTENTMENT?

When you see a barely educated, blue collar family in the UK say they are lucky to be better off than a poverty-stricken blue collar family, it is confusing, right?

When you see the supposed elite of African, Asian or Middle Eastern countries flock to the US or the UK, that is also a tad confusing, right?

When I hear people utter that dreaded “I know I was privileged” or “I know I lived a privileged life”, that’s equally confusing, right? More so if it ain’t a King or Queen or Billionaire saying so. Even that supposed sympathetic expression of acknowledgment, is bizarre in itself.

What exactly is the supposed basis of comparison?

Societal advantage is a numbers game. It is the reason an individual lost control of her jeep, careened into a school, killing two 7 year old girls and she said she had an epileptic seizure (which was not previously diagnosed by any doctor) and she was not charged, not even for lack of proper control of her vehicle. Now, there would be rioting on the streets – attended by people from cities that are miles away from the incident – if this driver was of a certain colour or from a certain background. Because we now somehow believe that committing crime or other offences, can only be acceptable, if committed by the majority race. Now, call that privilege or whatever you wish to call it, it is simply the perks of being in the majority. Period.
Go anywhere on earth and that same advantage, afforded to whichever tribe, creed or race that’s in the majority, will be there. It is what it is.
Now, after years of the parents of the two little girls who were killed in the incident above, asking questions, the lady has just been charged this week, with reckless driving I think.

Is there ever a perfect life out there?

CONTENTMENT is key?
