If you win a third place match, you can say third is better than fourth (even though nobody can tell you who was third at Italia 90, but we all know who won the World Cup in 1966). And if you lose the third place match, you say it was a dead rubber anyway. A meaningless match.
So, of course, it would be an entertaining match! It’s as pointless as watching a friendly!
